Lolly Stick Bracelet DIY

September 7, 2012

It’ about time to treat you with another DIY, I haven’t done that in a while, I know. I love this one because it’s really simple and fun so kids of all ages can do it.

So what you need is:

lolly sticks (the thinner, the better)
glasses to shape the bracelets
paints

First I boiled the sticks for about 20 minutes, than took each out with tongues and shaped while still warm – don’t worry they cool down enough to hold in a matter of seconds.
Now if you’re impatient like me and don’t mind risking a few sticks try to bend them straight into the cup but if you’re smarter first work each stick around the outside of the glass and then patiently get them inside the cup in a nice, equal circle. And don’t be surprised if a few brake anyway!
Leave over night. You’ll probably find them on the bottom of the glass in the morning since they shrink a bit.
Now have fun and paint, glue glitter, sequins, maybe wrap a ribbon around it…then show me your outcomes!

Ps. The tiny hands that should model smaller models are currently in school, sorry for that! But as you can see she absolutely participated in this craft – try to guess which ones she made!
